Dealing with francophones in Canada

I've had absolutely no problems talking to french-speakers in Canada. It seems that 100% of them know at least two languages, so if you start your conversation with "Bonjour! Parlez-vous anglais?" (the only words that I know in French), you get a smile in return, and the person replies back in english.
Show some respect to the natives, and they will show respect to you. The same trick worked in Mexico, Spain, France and Greece. Smile
