Chances are good that after the initial contact with your insurance, you will be dealing with hers. On the other hand, if you have full coverage, you can ask your insurance to pay you and they will then go after the other company (not all of them will do this, but it doesn't hurt to ask).

On my one and only accident, I dealt with my insurance for payment on the bike. I got paid within 2 weeks less my deductible. My insurance then got that money back from the other person's insurance and I got another check for my deductible when they did. The other person's insurance made me an offer more than a month after the accident for less than half of what my insurance gave me.

And before this post gets littered with the "Get a lawyer!!" responses, I always advocate giving the system time to work for you. Most states have a 2 year statute of limitations for filing a lawsuit, so why give up 33.3% of your payout to a lawyer right out of the gate when it may not even be necessary?

Good luck, and I hope you come out in good shape.
