I have, slipped and busted my butt on a section of ground that was CLEARLY slick without the glasses and all but invisible with them. There are a dozen such things I've encountered where I thought "whoa, that would have Really sucked on a motorcycle". Never have thought "geez, I totally couldn't live without polarized lenses", even with extremely light-sensitive blue eyes.
This is an argument/debate that's older than the 20+ years I've been online and involved in motorcycling forums/listserves/bulletin boards. There are clearly 2 camps (just like with helmets/no helmets) and never the twain shall meet. It's my personal opinion, after spending months of my life listening to each side, and then using practical (and very personal) life experiences to come to my final belief. And it's not even final, just where things stand today.
