I'm new to the forum and will pick-up my newly acquired 2007 250 tomorrow. I want to pass on a-bit of info you all may not be aware of. When you encounter what looks like a Phillips screw head on your Japanese bike there's about 99.9% chance it's not a Phillips. You need to purchase a set of JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screwdrivers. You can get by with a Phillips screwdriver but after a-while your pretty screw heads are going to get buggerd-up. I have a set (four sizes are all you need). I don't recall where I purchased them but you can do a JIS web search and find a vendor. If you get a set you will notice the difference immediately and no more buggered screw heads. I learned about JIS screw heads from the RC model community. And that's the truth!
Wouldn't it be appropriate if every repair manual pointed this out?
