nice to see ya again Matt and your friend Andy :) and good to hear someone is taking the MT75 off your hands. and i get to talk to that guy with a 250 in Group B. everything looks stock on his bike, stock rearset, stock handlebar, stock rear shock. Only 'mods' are the Pirelli Sports Demon and SS brake line i can see is. That guy is young too, and just started doing track this year. Faith in Pre-gen restored. They can go places. :)
True, 17 miles door to track :)
We would be able to sleep in until 7:25 and go to the riders meeting at 7:30, rather than waking up at 6 to drive to the track!

Hahahahaha!!!
Wow, some people are just ridiculous. Here is the other set I sold him -
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/ant/mcy/3231334492.html
The MT75s were in pretty good condition (three track days on them, though probably 1.5-2 years old by now), but those race tires were almost completely shot. The rear had a little bit of tread in the center, almost none on the side, and the front had pretty much nothing all over, or at least not enough that I would trust it for anything but mild commuting.
(for reference to anyone else, I listed each set at $20/obo, and he offered $30 for both sets, so I took it)
I think the plan is to do both days, but we'll see. Andy has a fifth wheel he was thinking of bringing up so we could stay at the track, probably Friday night through Sunday. Either way, I should be there at least one day

I like them!!
Off the bike, they are really tight and kind of awkward to move around in, but once I'm on the bike, everything lines up and it's no problem. Getting them on and off isn't bad either, but I've done it so much now that I'm used to it.
I'm not sure if it is the bike, or the fact that I'm on the track, or that I've been that fast a decent amount now, but going over 100 doesn't feel really fast anymore! The ZX-6 is soooo stable at those high speeds, it barely feels like you are moving. Also, since I'm on the track and I know how far I have until the next turn, with no oncoming traffic to worry about, it doesn't feel that fast.
By the way, I made it up to 121 at one point during the day, and I'm curious to see how fast I can get up to on the big track!!

How do you like the Spartan leathers?
Just curious to see if the custom fit is comfortable.
And the idea of going 110 mph scares me to death. I suppose you get used to it. Maybe.

Great day at the track! (pictures inside)
Good to see you again too! I was very glad that guy bought all four of my tires - my garage has a bit more space now.
Wow, stock suspension??? I guess I haven't ridden a ninja with stock suspension in awhile, but I vaguely remember how much of an improvement it was when I upgraded. I can't imagine riding in B group on it. Seems some people have all the natural talent....
Took awhile to get used to the new bike, and by the end of the day I was nowhere near the limit of the bike, but got decently comfortable on it
The thing that wowed me the most was the brakes!! Tons of force, but also really good feel - really smooth. Definitely helped slowing down from 110+
And some pictures -

Yup, 599 ccs of screaming horsepower :D
The forks are kinda stock - the PO put in racetech springs and gold valves. The rear shock is completely stock though. He did about 1,500 miles of track days on it, so it should be plenty fine for my skill level for now!
The 500 was a lot of fun, and did really well on the track. I only really rode it a couple sessions at Chuckwalla, but it handled well and the power was nice and smooth. I put in my extra fox shock and sonic springs, and the PO had put on woodcraft clipons and custom rearsets, so the riding position was pretty aggressive. The thing I didn't like about it was it had 16" wheels with sport demons, which were pretty good, but I didn't trust them enough to really push it. I didn't really like the brakes either. The PO had swapped a front end from a late 80's ZX-6, so it had dual brake disks, but it didn't have the feel of my 250, Ducati, or even my v-strom. Overall, a decent track bike though!

and how did you like the Ninja 500 ? i was reading the their forum, and
they

Nice!
I'm still tentative on all the track xperience days, but that is the plan so far. Let me know which ones you make it to!
Did you hear I got a ninja 500 track bike for $400? Well, I did, found out I liked the extra power, sold it and the 250 track bike, and bought a 2003 ZX-6RR track bike! Got it back in July but haven't had a chance to try it out yet - this coming Sunday will be the big day. I'm definitely looking forward to it.....

cool, i am looking at trackxperience's SOW and SMMR too...
but i am still pending, lots of things happened this year, and i have been out of track riding ever since. my first track will be Sept 2 in Fontana, then aiming for Trackxeperience's Sow on 9/29, Spring Mountain / Pahrump with Tx in Oct, and maybe squeeze a buttonwillow with Motoyard a week before.
I am more certain about SoW on 9/30 though
so what new bike you got?

I would, except for the Friday part
Although I wouldn't be on a 250 anyways!
Have you been doing many track days? I'm doing streets with Motoyard next Sunday (trying out my new bike for the first time!), and then planning on doing the rest of the calendar with track xperience (streets in Sept, spring mountain in October, and big willow and Chuckwalla in November).
By the way, Chuckwalla is an amazing track if you haven't been there - so smooth and lots of fun turns!
