Springs trump GVEs IMHO
I'd rather have a bike that's sprung right with too weak damping (cured with oil), than too weak springs and adjustable compression damping (which is at the bottom of the list when it comes to desired things to control).
Now, if the GVE had any effect on Rebound, then it'd be a different story... I'd take rebound control over correct spring rate. But they don't, that's purely a function of the Bottom holes and oil viscosity.

Front end setup
OK, so now I need to make a choice. I can either get upgraded springs, which I am very familiar with, or I can get GVEs and use a heavier weight fork oil than stock. Anyone run either of these variations? I've found plenty of feedback from people who have both upgraded springs and GVEs. I'm really looking for feedback from someone who has run GVEs and heavier fork oil with stock springs.
