Yep, I sold it
But the main reason I bought it was so I could do my "beginner" track days without risk to my street bike. At this point, I feel confident enough in my abilities (and knowing my own limits) to do it on the street bike now. Hell, my wife even said I could take my (her) 650 as long as I pulled the plastics first. Don't want to hurt that purdy blue paint!

Nothing to prove really.

cuz no one in a Pre-gen is racing the 250 class (or doing trackdays, the only other pre-gen i've seen in track days is Matt, and another racer chick from up north San Fran).
some dude name Copperaxe on the ninjette forum will be running a pre-gen for a club race, but with new-gen wheels front and back. Somehow he hammered in the rear, and swap out the front end completely from the new gen.
You forgot me!
But seriously, from what I can tell, the guy that popped the new gen front/rear on the bike swapped out the swingarm and forks and all attached parts. Supposedly everything bolted right up. I've been combing craigslist for a while looking for a decent price on a new gen with no front / rear damage but people want some crazy money on these here in SoCal.

Well, that's good.
I'm so used to getting the usual anti-scooter sneers that I just expect everybody to be condescending toward bikes that are perceived as less than cool.

Yes. You run out of ground clearance and courage before the tires lose grip

those new-gen racer guys are real nice though...
they weren't condescending by any means.

Aren't the GT501s good enough at 250 performance levels?
Or is the one set of radial tires available for the J so much better that it justifies getting a whole new bike?
Tell those buttholes that we need to stick together as motorcyclists, and riders of small machines. There are more than enough people who don't fit into those groups to fight with.

damn, pre-gen can't get no respect
I've heard plenty of "hey, you ready for a new bike?" or "I think you should get a 600" from various riders, close friends, my boss (no joke), next door neighbor and the mailman; but this time, it's from the new-gen guys.
well, to be fair, their main grip about the pre-gen is the lack of good tires...
