BIG PRICE DIFFERENCE
The cost of the machines used is so much different. MotoGP machines cost about 3.5 million for a season, while a SBK machine MIGHT go into the hundred thousands. The reason MotoGP bikes are so expensive is that everything, even the bolts, are prototype. Nothing could have been used on street variants. However, SBK machines are street bikes heavily modified. Also, MotoGP machines are 800cc while SBK are usually 1000cc(give or take a few). So yeah, about 3.4 million dollar difference between the bikes.

World Superbike vs Moto GP
I was just reading an article about the testing for both superbike and moto gp the fastest times recorded for world superbike was Laverty's BMW S1000rr at 1.40.816. The fastest recorded GP time for the week was 1.40.090. I am just curious as to the cost difference between the two teams for almost equally competitive times.
