Hey folks, what Leon really needs is to have someone meet him a couple more times along the way, I think Duke knows the main checkpoints coming up. If it isn't a bad idea, he could post those or people could find them on and anyone that can make the time (say >10 hrs. round trip or so) could give his bike a once over while he catches his rest. Just the basic stuff like at least one oil change, better if we could pull off 3 or 4 evenly spaced ones, he should be due for one tomorrow. Check the tires for damage, coolant, check and lube the chain(I didn't notice if he has a scott oiler or the like) adjust it if necessary.
Much to my chagrin, I hadn't realised this need in time to get the time off work and be there for him in Gerlach.
Can *anyone* pull this off for him? He's pretty much out of my range for the rest of the rally.

I will be at the Florida checkpoint Friday PM / Saturday AM complete with tools and spare bike for parts. I'll be taking care of the oil/filter change (he can make it 6k on an oil change using Mobil 1), valve check and anything else needed. I have the times and addresses of the three checkpoints in Southern NV (Tonight), N. Florida (Saturday) and S. Maine (Tuesday/Wednesday? Don't have the schedule in front of me). If anyone wants to show up at one of these, e-mail me off line for details.

BTW - Leon called this morning and was already about 30 mins ahead of schedule. He made it around 1050 miles for the first 24 hours and got about 5 hours sleep.

Eric, thanks again to you, Erin and Katana for taking off at a moment's notice and driving all night to help Leon. We'll do our best to keep him rolling when he gets to this end of the continent.
