Subject: I had my spring break out in California...

I just got back on Sunday - i spent all week there starting on the 7th (with Katie). It is kinda creepy to think that someone took my IP address or posted from the same network (no safety features were on that network).

I spent Sat-Tues in SB with my brother Gordon and then Katie and I drove up to Berkley. We drove back down to SB on Fri night and left Sun morning. We had a good time - if yall want pictures i can give'um.

We stayed at the Sandman Inn on State st. in Santa Barbara Shocked
The going rate for our room was like $200/night and we got it for an average of 85/night for the trip Smile
IIRC, the financial situation came with my mom's phone call about dire straights and my college tuition... The trip cost about 1300 bucks (we paid for katie as well as myself) and i do not have the savings to pay for another trip out west or the time to get a job to do so. Since i got my RA job (which does not provide financial relief until next Sept), i have had soooo much work to do - mainly for training.

You have to ask Alan what he was doing in Santa Barbara. Maybe we'll see more pictures from that place later on?

As to the posts... they are useless as far as the clues go:

Of course, in the last one, the guy staying in a hotel in Santa Barbara complains about financial issues... doesn't compute.

Probably this display:

So the plaque traveled to Toronto to have its picture posted from California.

Using information freely available to us all:

If there have only been 3 posts from that IP, 2 from AlanS, 1 from Guy Lafleur, it makes sense that it was posted from some place AlanS does not regularly log on from. Now, because this game is too much fun, the admins won't tell us which two of AlanS's posts came from this IP. But given that this IP belongs to the Sandman Inn in Santa Barbara, CA, and only other IP shared during this plaque saga (via a goofy domain name) was from CA as well, either the admins want to frame a Californian, or...

I like giving AlanS a hard time as much as the next guy, but some of you need to be a bit more cynical...

Bob Gainey and Jacques Plante weren't contemporaries so that picture is from some sort of display of past players or something.

Which still points to a lack of hockey knowledge, exactly as Alan admits to AHA !

I like thinking of weight loss as:

I can either go do something fun for the next half hour, or I can eat a couple of Krispy Kreme donuts and then have to spend that time running to burn them off. This makes it an easy equation to solve for - is the few minutes of KKd tasty goodness enjoyment worth a a minimum of a half of of my time? Generally the answer is no.

I need to invent KK flavored gum.

Everything is controlled by a monopoly - one catering service that SUCKS. We have grilled cheese as the ENTREE once a week at our dining halls. I cannot wait till i can get off this stupid meal plan so i can start eating better. As of now, i cannot afford to eat off the $1500 meal plan i was forced to buy.

There is a weight room across the courtyard from my dorm Smile

Subject: Remember... "There is NO replacement for displacement"

Meaning that building muscle mass has a dramatically larger effect on body fat/control than any aerobic activity.

This is simply because muscle burns energy round the clock. The more muscle, the more energy consumption. Doing aerobic activity (which a very good thing and essential to a healthy life) only burns energy during the activity and shortly there after. I like knowing my body is still consuming energy at 4am when I'm sound asleep.

My wife didn't believe it till I got her to TRY. She was previously doing 1~2 hours most days of aerobic activity and getting no-where on weight change. 6 months of lifting weights and she lost all the weight she wanted (-ish, I think she wants 5 more gone, but she's hit the goal that was originally set), AND has muscle tone that she's very proud of.

Then again, 90% of weight control is in the diet. Eat processed crap and you're going to look/feel like crap.

May I suggest bicycling now and saving the 20 years of angst and anguish? Mr. Green
