Subject: Track day tire wear |
|
And I swear this will be my last thread on track days!!!
Can the more experienced track riders chime in and tell me if there's anything significant in the tire wear? The biggest difference I noticed was that there was a lot more wear after my second track day than after my first. I chalk that up to 1. more sessions run, and 2. I ran harder/faster.
Rear, day 1
Rear, day 2
Front, day 1
Front, day 2

Based on my track days so far. Do you constitute more wear by the balled up rubber? I'm pretty sure that all of that comes from the other bikes that have crazy sticky tires that the rubber balls up and falls off onto the track for you to pick up. I'm guessing it was warmer that day, so the tires were warmer, wearing faster, and giving out more free hitchhiking rubber
I do see one problem though - you have chicken strips! |

It looks like you need to lean more But yeah, with a warmer track you'll get more wear and more debris pickup. Weren't you playing with pressures too? |
