Subject: The many changes of my bike |
|
Over the past year or so Ive done alot of changed to my 99 250. I wanted to post them to let everyone look at it and get peoples oppinions. Mainly if anyone has any ideas on where I can take it next. The pics are in chronological order. Thanks for looking.
When I 1st got it. . .
Then I decided to give it a make over. .
Then a car hit me so I decided to go streetfighter-ish
Then a better look. . .
Then I hit some sand and jumped a median, putting my knee through the tank so I decided to give it a whole new look and feel to it. . .
And this is how it sits now. I have plans to paint it, put some speedo and mirrors on it, and prob get a new seat, maybe corbin or an old bobber sping seat. The skys the limit.

I'll be the first to jump in and ask - did you mod that new gen header to get it to fit or did she bolt right up? There has been talk and specualtion about doing it, but noone until now has produced any pics. |

The inlets of the new gen fit snugly into the inlets of the old gen. So I cut and welded the tips of the old gen onto the new gen and it was a perfect fit. The best part is the new gen can bolted right on as well. I was amazed that it fit so perfectly. The extra torque was nice too. |

Ya Ill see if I can find any detailed pics of the process.
The process itself is very simple. All together it takes bout half an hour if you take it slow. |

its a basic seven inch H4 that i bought from Delkevic USA. They make great quality stuff and the light is pretty good. Plus direct hookup, no wiring. easier to find it on Ebay then their actual website. |

Most CB tanks fit pretty well, minus some fabs, since the frames are pretty similar. |

Subject: Center stand question. |

Do the J pipes block the center stand or is that something you decided to remove for other reasons? At least from the images you posted it doesn't seem like there would a reason the new ninja pipes would force you to remove your center stand. |

I removed it because I thought it was hideous. Does not need to be removed because of the pipes but if you do remove the stand it leaves a nice hole for an extra clamp. |

Yeah I could see how it would look ugly, especially on a stripped down street fighter. I plan to replace the exhaust on my "normal" classic ninja with the modern ninja pipe so I was planning on keeping the center stand. |

As Im sure you know any biker out there ever will tell you to always rejet anytime you change anything to the exaust, and its mostly true, However I did not rejet, but there was no noticeable difference in any performance or problems. So I just left it as it is. Always ran great. I actually sold the bike not too long ago, miss it already. |
