Your first mistake was telling them you had a sportbike...If you ride a 250 like the rest of us, it's classified on the title as an EX250 motorcycle...That's all you tell them. If you say words like "Ninja" or "Sportbike", they start handing out the vaseline...
Progressive seems to be the insurance carrier of choice for the 250's...I have progressive insurance and the rates are cheap - $126.00 per year for liability only...If you're carrying a loan on the bike, you might as well forget it! Full coverage is expensive on ANY bike! (The difference in quotes for my bike - 03 EX250 - $126.00 per year for liability, $898.00 per year for full coverage).
