If you're plugging in an aftermarket box into your car, you've done a lot more than just advance the spark. I don't argue that the black box in your Firebird increased the power across the rev range, but advancing the spark on a 250 is a lot different than modifying the onboard computer on a modern fuel injected car. Go ahead and hunt down a spark advance kit for the 250, but I'd be willing to bet that you will be disapointed in the results. Remember, this is an engine that requires major internal work just to go from the ~25 HP range to the low 30 HP range.
