| Almost time for the big 6k service. |
I called my dealer to ask how much it would cost for this service. They quoted me around $130. I asked if they were going to adjust the valves. The guy said, "uh, if we adjust the valves it will be $156 plus parts." This answer irritated me. Isn't a valve adjustment one of the main points of a 6k service? These people are nice and friendly, but they over charge me and their service seems a little fishy. I want my bike well taken care of and maintained right. It looks more and more like doing it myself is the best way to go, but I'm always a little timid about tearing into things I know nothing about. I am now going to have to do some research on what all I need to do for the 6k service. (How to do it, I should say.) Comments? Suggestions?
