My Katana's acceleration was more smooth but far less nimble and yes, weighed a ton, but the seat was more comfotable. Riding was not because of the weird lean required. I traded my Katana for a 03' 250 'cuz I tried my wife's '01 and it's a BLAST! I love the handling. Far superior to anything else out there except maybe the Yamaha R1 or a decent Seca II.
