noticed you've heard it all?

Use faq and search functions to read a wealth of knowledge about break-in. You just have to read around all the armchair ideas, sticker fanatics and race fan quickies. From what i gathered and was told by 25+ year kawa mechs. is to break it in stepping from 6k rpm for first 200 miles, then 8k rpm to 500 miles. Have the factory break in oil dropped/changed with check-up and then go 10k rpm for 200 miles and set her free. It's firmly shoved down your throat to change rpms constantly, do fast accelerations and controlled downshifting (without lugging) decelerations as well. Also run her until hot and then cool her down, then do again. I change my earl every 800 miles due to about 25-30% of my oils viscosity being gone already so I'll have my valves checked at 1300 miles. Many/most do that at 500 because it's "recommended" to piss your money away early (and twice) for the first actual check where you may need a needed enough adjustment. Now hows that for two cents. Really confused now?
