| 21st. Annual Virginia Highlands Camping Trip/The Honda Hoot. June 18th |
June 18th. is when we will arrive at camp in Southwestern Virginia just south of Wytheville in The Mount Rodgers Natl. Rec. Area. Camp is on a mountain ridge about 4,000 ft. elevation with great views from the top overlook. The campground has 9 spacious sites, theres running water, nice block outhouse, and a good size picnic shelter we can use if it rains. We will ride some great roads in the area, and one day we are going to do some hiking up in Grayson Highlands State Park to Wilbur Ridge for a spectacular 360 degree views of Mount Rodgers (highest Mt. in Virginia) and The Blue Ridge Mountains.
Its the best camping trip I go on and its the first motorcycle trip I've takin back in 1985. Its a trip you will enjoy and want to do again.
Arrive June 18th. (Saturday) Depart camp Wednesday Morning the 22nd. then ride down The Blue Ridge Parkway and stay at The Little Switzerland Inn on the pkwy Wednesday Night a nice place for lodging and dining. Continue down the pkwy Thursday to Gatlinburg when I have rented a house Thuesday-Saturday Night for The Honda Hoot. return home Sunday the 26th.
let me know if you would like to make any or all of this trip. So far Payne, Leon, Sheila and I, and friends Keith and Marie are Camping in Virginia. Payne, Keith,Marie,I and to other friends Pat and Bob are staying in Gatlinburg for The Hoot the house sleeps 8 we have 6, room for two more and theres floor space if theres more. Please let me know asap if your wanting to go? Also you dont need a reservation for camping but we will need to make reservations at The Little Switzerland Inn on The Blue Ridge Parkway for Wednesday Night.
