I called my dealer and asked about the 500 mile tuneup, and they told me they usually adjust cables (Brake, clutch, etc), change the oil and filter, lube everything that can be lubed, and adjust the chain.
I asked about a valve check, and the mechanic told me it wasn't necessary until 3-4k miles, depending on the severity of the driver's style.
