j/k Search and you'll find plenty. I, like you, followed the 4000/6000 thing to a tee. It was a pain, but it was what I chose to do, being my first bike and all. Given another chance, I wouldn't use that method. My motor is still running very well at 42,000+ miles, but it does burn oil, and has from early on. I suspect the rings didn't seat properly.
