this is a great post! I have read over all the FAQ break-ins and a few others where links were available and i was still confused (as you can see total newbie, never held a wrench or changed the oil - but with this site that is going to change)
I like your meat and potatoes version I'm going to follow it. I bought my bike last week and it has 30 miles on it right now - the dealer said to ride it pretty hard - not to follow the break in - he said just to be comfortable and careful and not to redline it - he said the kawi break-in is overly cautious and possible detrimental - as you and others have made very clear - if i may request - could you add your post to the FAQ on break-ins? I just printed it out and i think many other newbie and future newbies could benefit. Thanks again - I'll give you an update in a few thousand miles - finished the MSF today and passed - so my riding radius will expand a bit this week with more ops for your break in - condo parking lots only go so far...lol
