As long as you don't on public roads, learning to wheelie is allright

First off lemme say that popping wheelies on public traffic infested roads is extremly stupid. Most riders get pissed when you mention wheelie cause they've seen a jackass on the road being a total squid. As long as you are doing it on a dirt track or a closed lot/track I see nothing wrong with it. It seems the stunter trend has moved from the highways to parking lots. The best way to learn how to wheelie is on a dirt bike, if you fall/flip over, the ground is a lot softer on you and your bike than blacktop, plus no traffic. Ex250's are not good bikes to learn how to wheelie, b/c you cannot "rock one up". They do not have enough power to use a sudden throttle change to lift the front. The only way to get up on one is by "clutching one up", which is the harder and more dangerous of the two main methods. With the rocking method your throttle can control how far up you go and you can roll off if you get into trouble. With the clutch method you set your rpms then pop it up, if they are set too high, you WILL flip over. Clutch method is not very forgiving and takes alot of practice to figure out where to set it, +/- 1000 rpms can cause you alot of pain. I highly highly recommend if you want to learn get another bike, a beater, some old 400-600cc pos and find an empty abandoned lot and of course strap on full gear. DO NOT try it on an ex250 if you are a noob, you've been warned. Just be prepared to face the fact that you might hurt yourself learning how to do it. I personally think being a dick to someone wanting to learn is stupid, if you've made your mind up that you want to learn, you're going to do it no matter what someone else says. Better to give solid advice, plus alot of peeps who are asses lack the skill or balls it takes to learn. Just for God's sake do not EVER do it on a public road or near anyone's person or property, its allright if you hurt yourself, but when you endanger someone else you become the "dick".
