Cant find used 250.

hey guys, ive been in search for a ninja 250 around 04/05 for a while now. ive looked everywhere from ebay to craigslist etc. im really tired and fed up w/ searching for a used 250. should i go new? not that i have a problem w/ the price tag, but im just worried that i will drop my brand new ninja. i heard there was this add-on to the bike that kind of protects the bike from being dropped? forgot the name of the product but im sure you guys know what im talking about. how do those work?
