ROughly 12 hours into the 2001 IBR, I stood up on the Concours to stretch my legs. The right foot peg bracket broke under my mostly non-significant weight.
Turns out it had weakened, invisibly, as a result of two tip-overs during the previous 12 months. I'd replaced a broken foot rest each time, but the bracket still looked good.
Luckily I was able to find a friend with a non-spare and didn't lose too much time as a result. But it would have been better not to have suffered a break like that in the first place...
I can help where I can... — Zippatuh, Sun Jan 21, 2007 11:57 pm

On mine, the frame tabs break, not the hangar. — Leon, Wed Nov 22, 2006 6:09 am
Checked the tabs, and the paint isn't even cracked... — loudboys, Sat Jan 20, 2007 5:58 pm
90 degrees throttle cable what for? Rerouting the cables? Just curious (n/t) — rpatrick, Sun Dec 03, 2006 2:43 pm
I take it you're not acquainted with Leon's little project... — loudboys, Sun Dec 03, 2006 3:56 pm
Thanks; I'll check that out. Sounds like you need a bell crank... — loudboys, Wed Nov 22, 2006 8:02 am
