I'm a little new to the EX250 myself, as I've done 250 miles on my second motorcycle. I"m in the break-in too. If you go by the sticker on the tach, you shouldn't exceed 4,000 rpm. so far I just haven't exceeded 7,000, and I try to keep the manifold pressure relatively low.
