I have used State farm in the past but gradually switching over to Farmers when time to renew?
Why? Because they make constant billing errors and expect the customer to pay for their mistakes. This has happened several times in the last few years and just had enough. Last year my mom bought a minivan. Without my knowlege they canceled my truck insurance because they thought I had bought the mini van and traded in my truck. They never told me this and I knew nothing was wrong until they started sending me bills...long story short after they figured out they had screwed up ...they wanted ME to pay the extra money needed (the van was brand new my truck about 3-4 years old at the time) . I got rather livid that I had already renewed my truck months before and I had never given them permission to cancel my truck. They finally backed off but then went after my mom for the extra money. I renewed my truck this past Feb , paying in full yet late april i get a bill with no explanation saying I owned 50 more bucks. I ignored them and then another came saying my policy would end 3 weeks or so early if I didnt pay. Still have ignored them since I have a binding contract with them and if something happens during that 3 week period I figure I have a real good case agaist them since they have done this numerous times. 3rd hand info from my sister is that they yet again confused me with her and trying to make me pay for their screwup. Oh and when I bought a house they had confused me with my father!!! even using my SS# with his name. So be careful if you have that family plan as if State Farm makes a mistake they will expect you to pay for it.
Oh full coverage with Farmers insurance for my new ninja is $175 yr full coverage so they are cheaper that SF anyway.
