I bought a used '01 that had about 1,100 miles on it. The original owner had a receipt showing that it had its first service to include a valve adjustment. When I adjusted the valves at 3,000 miles I found that the valve cover had never been off. So what you are probably buying at the dealer is an expensive oil change and a quick once over. Do it yourself and you will at least know it was done right.
