well, if you roll on the throttle a bit before letting the front down it won't slam down. Slamming it down is bad on the bike. Actually, I'm not a wheelie expert or anything, but too my knowledge, wheelies decrease chain life and slamming the front down could mess up your suspension (not to mention cause a violent tank slapper OR WORSE, a high-side). Just be careful and wear your gear.
