Track suit questions

Well, after going to the track last month with hickman I am hooked. I have decided a good investment would be a suit specific for the track. I have been searching online and trying to narrow down what I want. I really dont care either way if its one piece or two. my budget is in the 600 or so dollar range and i was wanting to know if anyone that currently has a race suit or experience racing can point me in the right direction of a good quality suit. There are some inexpensive Frank Thomas suits in my local shop but I was told to stay away from those. Another local shop recommended AGV for around 500 dollars or so. My other consideration is Motoports race approved synthetic suits, which they say are stronger than leather. Thier suits also come with a 7 year warranty and are custom made. here is thier pant for 299
http://motoport.com/detail.asp?InStock=1&PriceCall=0&Merchant_ID=G7Y9CEYc&Product_ID=102.565&Merchant_Company=Pants%20Gear&Category=Kevlar
and here is their jacket for 399
http://motoport.com/detail.asp?InStock=1&PriceCall=0&Merchant_ID=633Pm22C&Product_ID=800.102.365&Merchant_Company=Jackets%20Department&Category=Kevlar
so for 700 I can have a custom 2 piece with a 7 year warranty. And currently the wait time for it is only a week=) But I cannot find any reviews on this GP2 suit anywhere so not sure if I should go the leather suit route, or go for this kevlar blend race apprpved suit.
Would any racing veterans or anyone that has purchased a race/track suit care to comment or point me in the right direction of a good suit? Also, I have heard that off the shelf suits are rarely a good fit?
