250R observation

I sold my 2001 Ninja 250r in July after putting around 3000 trouble free miles on it. I went out and bought a tricked out 1988 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 that is pushing 88hp so that I could ride with all my friends and not look and feel out of place. I also needed a bike to take my wife out on.
I love the Harley. Its loud, it looks great, its a very personal feeling because I did some customization myself to personalize it. Here are a few observations after owning both.

1. A Harley is a VERY expensive way to get into biking.
2. A Harley is not a good bike to commute on because they really don't get that great gas mileage.
3. If you can't wrench a bike yourself you will find yourself spending ALOT of money on basic maintenance.
4. Accessories for just about any Harley are INSANELY expensive.
5. I like the feeling of having a heavier bike under me. I also think that my Sportster handles, brakes and does just about everything extremely well. It has kevlar lined EBC brake pads and it REALLY stops.

I do miss the Ninja though. It was a great jump on and ride type of bike, it got insane gas mileage, it handled, braked, accelerated and did everything extremely well.
