Ouestion

Is this forum dealer oriented, or consumer/owner/enthusiast oriented? I have seen far to many posts defending unfair and unethical dealer business practices. This is beginning to bother me. The dealers and the customers will always be advesaries, the dealer wants $$$$$, while the customer wants to save as much $$$$$ as possible. As a motorcycle enthusiast, I see the dealer as the one standing between me and my desire to get a new bike at a fair price. If the moderators and other powers that be here are on the dealers side, that would be a good thing to know. Otherwise, a section in the FAQ about how to deal with dealers, and how to get the best deal on bikes, gear, accessories, etc. would be nice. Maybe a list of dealers and vendors who have earned your business by selling at fair prices, and treating you with a little respect would be nice. I just ordered a new Joe Rocket Phoenix 4.0 Jacket from Dennis Kirk at a good price, no tax, and free shipping. I have dealt with Dennis kirk for 30 years, and highly recomend them. On the other hand, RideNow Powersports, a highly organized group of unethical motorcycle dealers now operating in 6 states, should be avoided at all costs. They move into a state, either buy up, or put out of business all the other dealers, then set their own prices, with no competition. (definitely not free market) They sell the jacket I ordered at almost twice what I paid for it, plus tax. It's a wonder they don't add freight and dealer prep to it as well.
