For most larger displacement bikes it is useless, but on the EX250, you need most of the range of throttle on the street, and your wrist can end up in some very uncomfortable positions and the only easy option is to snap the throttle closed while you adjust your wrist... not exactly ideal on any part of the bike...
If you're a competent rider you won't whack the throttle open when you go over a bump or quickly transition from side to side in chicanes or anything of the sort, which in my mind makes it a non-issue.
I'm not looking for something that gives it like 1cm total movement from open to closed, just maybe 1cm off the total overall movement on the throttle. I'm sure anyone else who's put a couple thousand miles on the new EX would agree with me.
