An addendum ot my earlier repsonse

BrianM made 2 good points. If you "get lost" in your music then you should probably not listen to it while riding. Second - you still need to be able to hear sirens/horns/screeching tires, etc. Since we get to lane split in CA, we usually don't have to worry about the idiot behind us not stopping, but we do have plenty of emergency vehicles. Fortunately, I have not noticed an appreciable loss in my ability to hear them coming. The only time I did not hear a police car, everyone else was stopped at a green light, so there were other cues to go by. I bought the isolator headphones because of the TBR pipes I put on my bike. Then I rode it with no hearing protection at all. Guess what's not on my bike anymore.....
