maybe you've already figured this out, as you posted your complete trackbike.
first of all: THE COIN TRICK!!! IF ONLY I HAD THOUGHT OF THAT!!! getting that spring on was TOUGH.
to answer your question: i'm pretty sure you need that spring. otherwise the pedal would hang down and possibly drag the rear brake. but it wouldn't drag much.
my spring wasn't holding on for dear life. i'm not sure what we did differently. the bike is currently in the shop, but i will take a look when i get it (supposedly) this weekend.

since you aren't using the brake switch box, you could use a washer instead (n/t) — crash, Thu May 01, 2008 9:22 am
