That depends

I tried several different custom made earplugs and non of them work as well as high quality disposable earplugs for me. It is even worse, the custom plug creates more annoying noise by not fully seating or being pulled out by the helmet when I put it on. I suspect that how well those work for you depend on a shape of your ear canal. Plus, 20db is too low. All disposables I use, have 32-33 db rate.
