| One cheapskate method: |
Iphone, stock iPhone ear plugs, and I put my earplugs in first, and then press the earphones up into the helmet next to my ears. Turn the volume up and enjoy the benefits of good ear protection by playing loud music. I can't control it when I'm riding other than volume (touchscreen... brilliant
), but hey, it's not so bad. 
The day somebody comes up with a good helmet speaker set where the wire doesn't piss me off (I have a helmet headset, and guess what pisses me off... 3 wires coming out at various places. Make it one wire off-center and something that breaks away when I want to take the helmet off!) and a nice glove-usable remote for my iPhone, I'll do a little dance in celebration.
