At $1000 to $1400 you'll pay the bikes value in only a couple of years. If you don't plan on wrecking a bike every other year
then it's cheaper just to carry third-party.
Theft is usually expensive - judge that risk based on your local. Under/un-insured coverage is another...
Get a quote for them for just the portion you legally need - make sure you get a good high liability amount as it doesn't cost that much, and could save you problems if you somehow get involved in a major accident.
