Florida is pretty Lassiez-faire when it comes to bikes. And motor vehicles in general. No insurance requirement, no helmet law, hell, kids don't even have to go through Driver's Training to get a license.

I disagree with collision coverage--even with most companies having a $1K deductible will run up your insurance to $500-900 a year. After one collision and 2 years, you could have just bought a new Ninjette.

Check out Geico, they cut me the best deal for living in NE Florida. Also, like others have mentioned, sometimes a bank will require full coverage to protect their investment. It all depends on who your loan comes from.

Perhaps you'd like to define "Driver's Training".
Or is it a specific training course you're speaking of?

According to this - http://www.flhsmv.gov/ddl/firstlicense.html

"All applicants must show proof that they have completed a traffic law and substance abuse education course and will be required to pass vision and hearing tests, road rules and road sign tests, plus a driving test. "

The test info page - http://www.flhsmv.gov/ddl/educate_sess.html

Maybe that's not the "driver's training" you want to see them have, but they obviously require something.
And it's more than I was required to do to get a license in Ga when I was 16.
