Interesting - the link re-iterates what I just posted.
Insurance is not required for registration, but you must have insurance if you are in an accident - ergo insurance is required, but it's only enforced after it's actually needed.
I have collision and comp on both of my bikes with Geico, and it's less than $20 a year over just liability.
