Re: Anyone have a sound system?

Honestly, man, it probably isn't worth the trouble. If you want to run it at idle, you're going to kill your battery fairly quickly. The alternator is designed to recharge your battery over time at high engine speeds, so you wouldn't be able to run your setup on alternator power.

I imagine that you could do it, but as a previous poster said, this isn't really the bike for that. Where would you mount an amp? How would you keep it out of the elements? (Amps are generally designed to be inside a protected space.) Where would you mount the speakers? Yes, there are options, but really....if you want to listen to music, you're really better off with an MP3 player. Get yourself a proper motorcycle jacket - many of them come with a waterproof pocket designed just for that.

If you REALLY want a sound system, here are your options:

1.) Get a Honda Goldwing.
2.) Get...well, a Honda Goldwing.
3.) Get any other large touring bike that has a similar speaker setup.
4.) Work the logistics....amplifier, power draw, mounting options, speaker options (you'd need metal-coned speakers or something to survive the elements), switch housing....and then figure out how you're going to hook up a radio, CD player, or MP3 player, which will take more power and space. Although it looks like the site you posted has done a lot of that, you might have trouble with the Ninja - I'd heartily recommend a bigger bike with more overall space.
