Mountain Passes

Yeah I've been watching that too, I wasn't gonna take my rain gear, but I may change my mind. I put a new front tire on today and hope to get to the valves Wednesday, it's about 500 miles early, but if I don't do them now they'll be about 500 miles late by the time I get back. I just got one of Mark Kriegers manual cam chain tensioners, so I'm anxious to try it out to see if it quiets my cam chain a little. By the way, if anyone coming to the meet has an old bottom end laying around, I would sure like to have the little rocker that the tensioner pushes against to bow the chain tensioner blade. Mark wants to make a modification to get a little more throw before getting case interference, so the chain will have a longer service life before running out of adjustment. He warned me that the manual tensioner might not help if the rocker is already against the case, we'll see. My bike just turned 96,000 miles, so it's definitely earned its keep!
