FWIW ethanol fuel

FWIW, I use non-ethanol fuel on my weekend ~500 mile RT to see my mother in the nursing home. I purchase 89 octane regular non-ethanol fuel which is $.15 more a gallon than the 87 octane 10% ethanol blend fuel. I keep track of my mileage (and have >2.5 years worth of data) that show a 12%-20% increase in MPG using non-ethanol fuel. I see a 15-20% increase in MPG with all highway miles (weather?), and a 12-15% increase with highway/city driving (Honda I4). I have documented the same results with my wife's car (Hyundai V6). I use the non-ethanol fuel whenever possible in the Ninja and only see ~10% increase in MPG (could be wrist related). With limited miles (~1200) on the VStrom I'm getting 54mpg. Hopefully this summer, as I use the VStrom more, I can see an increase in the MPG. I've recently located a couple of other stations on my weekend route that sell non-ethanol fuel and plan to add them to my refueling stops. Hopefully the mileage increases I've seen will continue. Thanks, LY
