Clarifying info        

The credit reports are not really "once a year" but rather once every 12 months. It may sound like semantics, but it's not. There really are people who would interpret once a year to mean they can get the reports in November then again in January. When really, if you get your reprots on 9/4/12, you cannot get them again until 9/5/13 (with certain exceptions).

And, while hte FTC site is good, you can alwaus go direct to https://www.annualcreditreport.com to get the 3 reports. This is the web site that the FTC mandated the credit agencies set up and maintain for ease of access. Only the report is free. The score costs money if you choose that option.
