Just to make sure everyone is clear, I'm not advocating breaking speeding laws. Scienctific studies have found that the risk of causing or being involved in a collision increases dramatically with speed variance, and it doesn't matter if you're going faster or slower than prevailing. It's the difference between individual and prevailing speeds that's the problem, not the prevailing speed itself.
My goal is to arrive alive, so i keep my speed within 5mph of prevailing where the risk is lowest. Since riding a motorcycle is all about risk management I can live with exceeding the posted limit if that's what it takes to maximize my safety. it's either that, or don't ride, or drive, ever again.
