BWM portion of that video shows active self-balancing at high speed. That I am not sure about. Too much complexity to be reliable and to trust it. But then who knows, maybe in the distant future it won't be seen as complex or unreliable anymore ...
I haven't dropped a heavy bike before, but I'm sure you learned something when it happened to you. I've dropped a light bike plenty of times though. On the dirt and race track mostly.
Dani Pedrosa dropped his GP bike once during a parade lap (on the street in Spain, IIRC) - so it can happen to anyone.
Learning and developing skills is what makes riding enjoyable to me, but there are consequences and sometimes a steep learning curve.
I definitely agree with this. There is always a learning curve.
