My advise would be to try to find someone reasonably close to you that can help you with the easy stuff the first few times. Even if they dont ride a 250 (*Gasp*) if they are good with bikes they could show you at least the first time how to change an oil filter/ check your chain, tires...
I'm not terribly confident about my skills either (and I do have the manuals) but I'm gonna try taking my bike to Ian and have him show me how to do things myself the first few times. That way, I learn for next time, I pay alot less money, Ian gets paid for expertise, win-win. ;)
Bringin' the 250 to NY this weekend!!! Hope all goes as planned.
