Porltand Oregon "Poker Run"

While we were waiting for a final rider to show up at the Chevron in Troutdale on Sunday, a Troutdale Police officer pulled up behind my bike and I thought "Oh crap!". But I was relieved when he said "Do you all want to go on a poker run?" He continued to tell me that a fellow officer has been diagnosed with leukemia recently and they are having a poker run as a fundraiser. The officers name is Mike Kellogg.

Here are a few words from a spokesperson:

Mike and Tracie are so grateful for all of the support shown by his co-workers, schools, the community, friends, and family. "We are so overwhelmed…our hearts are overwhelmed with emotion. Without these people in our lives we don’t know how we could do this. There are no words to describe the love, support and help we have received. We hope that no one ever has to go through this, but in a second we would help someone else in need like this because we know the difference it can make. We could never say 'thank you' enough to all you people…not even in ten lifetimes."

I think we could make a huge presence as Ninja250 riders as well as well wishers to take part in this event .

Here are the links to Mike's progress and health to date as well as the waiver to print and have filled out ahead of time.
