What is the break in period for a 2009 250?

Newbie here..
Just got a New 2009 Ninja 250
In the paper manual it says the break-in period is 500 miles at approx 35-40 mph (4000rpm below)...

I'm riding in the street and gotta do at least 45-60mph (I live in Los Angeles)...or cars pass me up or try to cut me off!!
The only way to do 35-40 below is messing around in the side streets!...its very difficult right now..
My question......what do you guys do? hire a guy to drive in small circles for a week?.. ;p
