|EX250J shock on EX250H |
I decided I needed to finally get into this whole motorcycling thing, so I bought a new-to-me Canadian '07 ZZR-250 for a song recently. The only problem with it is that it needs a new shock. No problem, I think, I'll just look online for cheap replacements etc. Long story short, I decide to go with an '08+ EX250J shock. Direct bolt on, made for the bike, slightly stiffer, all is good, right? Well, it looks good on paper.
I finished my motorcycle rider's course today, so I insured my bike and went down to install the shock. Unfortunately, the sleeve in the middle of the top fitting on the J is about 1mm too wide to fit into the stock H bracket. Anyone else have this problem? Is it safe to just grind a hair off either side to make it fit?
