Pulse Air Injection Reed valve that is. It lets air into the exhaust so the catalyzer can combust left over fuel. There should be a tube that goes from the air box to this spot with some sort of valve in between to start/stop the flow of air. I think it's 16126 on this diagram. http://www.kawasakipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/kaw/500b64c4f8700223e47975ae/cylinder-head-cover These are commonly disabled or blocked off when switching to an aftermarket exhaust that doesn't contain a catalyzer.
Engine Swap! EX-250-J(08+) Engine in a EX-250-F(88-07)
Hello fellow riders,
My 05 250 required a new engine, and I chose to go with the new model ninja engine, as they are cheaper and have less miles (on ebay that is).
Other than a few minor mounting and hose issues, it shouldn't be a problem.
Aside from one. The question is:
On the new engines there is a Cylinder Head Cover Cap. (Ref#11065 on this page:
http://www.kawasakipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/kaw/500b64c4f8700223e47975ae/cylinder-head-cover
)
There is not one on the older engines.
What is the purpose of this cap? Do any hoses attach to it or is open ended?
Any input is appreciated.
Ride safe and have fun.
